Submission Guidelines for Joëlle Delbourgo Associates
Joëlle Delbourgo Associates, Literary Management is a literary and consulting agency handling adult fiction and nonfiction. We represent a wide range of nonfiction: from serious nonfiction including biography and memoir, women's issues, health and medicine, religion, philosophy, history, psychology and science-related nonfiction, to narrative nonfiction, popular reference, and popular culture. Our fiction list ranges from literary fiction to commercial, mainstream fiction. We are highly selective and will respond only to queries according to the following guidelines:
For both fiction and nonfiction submissions, please specify whether your work is being reviewed by other agents, and/or publishers. We do not charge a reading fee, but may on occasion recommend the services of freelance editors who may be hired by prospective clients. We generally respond to all submissions within six weeks. Due to the high volume of submissions we receive, we cannot always respond with a personal letter.
For nonfiction: Please submit a detailed overview outlining the nonfiction project, along with a sample chapter of actual text. A stamped, self-addressed envelope is required; Joëlle Delbourgo Associates cannot be responsible for any proposals submitted without proper postage. Due to postal regulations, we do not return materials weighing over 13 oz.

For fiction: Please submit a query letter, along with ten to fifteen pages of actual text. Please indicate whether the complete novel is available, and we may ask to see the entire manuscript. Please include a stamped, self-addressed envelope including proper postage. Due to postal regulations, we do not return materials weighing over 13 oz.
We do not accept email queries.
International Submissions:
Our agency encourages submissions from across the globe. Please include in your submission an email address for our response. Be advised that we will not return any materials to an International Address. All responses will be communicated via email.

Joëlle Delbourgo, President of the agency, represents a wide range of fiction and nonfiction. She will consider literary fiction and commercial fiction, including women's fiction, non-category thrillers and suspense and selectively, mysteries.
In nonfiction, she looks for groundbreaking new ideas, research-based books that shed new perspectives on issues, books by experts and leaders in psychology, business, health and medicine, women's issues, philosophy, science, history, religion and spirituality. Do not send category romance, science fiction and fantasy, mystery, westerns, children's books. Hard copy submission with SASE preferred to the New Jersey agency address:
