Gabe Zichermann

Gabe ZichermannGabe Zichermann is considered the world’s foremost expert on designing engagement strategies for customers and employees. As founder and CEO of Gamification Co and chair of GSummit, he helps catalyze a worldwide community devoted to engagement science and meaningful experience design. Zichermann is also co-founder of Dopamine, the specialist gamification design consultancy, where he works with start-ups, Fortune 500 companies, and governments to make the world a more engaging place.

Gabe is, most recently, author of  GAMIFICATION REVOLUTION (McGraw Hill, 2013), a ready-to-use Gamification Revolutionstrategy guide filled with the best ideas and pitfalls you can avoid when creating a gamified system. Gabe is also the the author of the seminal gamification book GAME-BASED MARKETING which helped spread the idea of using game mechanics in non-game contexts (Wiley, 2010). Gabe followed this up with GAMIFICATION BY DESIGN (O’Reilly, 2011) which is the first to look at the technical and architectural considerations for designing engagement using game concepts. Originally from Toronto, Zichermann now lives in New York City where he is co-director of the Founder Institute’s NYC chapter and a board governor for StartOut.org.
