Lama Marut

Lama Marut has stowed his surf board and parked the motorcycle to pen his first book A Renegade’s Life Guide to the Good Life published by Beyond Words Publishing. Publisher’s Weekly praises “Lama Marut manages a fresh approach based on Asian philosophy, particularly Buddhist principles. This provocative, “hip” guide doesn’t weasel out on the importance of living a “morally pure life” to achieve happiness.” In his Guide he explains his belief is that the purpose of religion is to gain happiness. Happiness and karma are linked in the way that the more happiness we share and give to the world, the more happiness will find us. Lama Marut explains that you should not get hung up on the negative aspects of life, rather move on and find the joy. He makes his point all the while poking fun at people’s structured view of happiness and karma in order to break them out of there shell and see and ocean of possibilities easily attainable to them. The Herald News proclaims, “”Lama Marut’s book is an intelligent, readable primer on how to live a good life.” Grab your helmet, A Renegade’s Life Guide to the Good Life is a wild, rewarding journey that keeps you smiling on your way to understanding and finding that happiness is much closer at hand than the next paycheck or movie ticket.

He has been a professor at two universities and is the founder and director of several spiritual institutions including the Yoga Studies Institute. Having taught religion for over twenty-five years, the basis of his teaching is Buddhist and Yoga spirituality and philosophy.
