Fox 2000, a division of 20th Century Fox, acquired the film rights to 21 YEARS TO MIDNIGHT: The Promise That Brought Marriage Equality to America, by Debbie Cenziper and Jim Obergefell, in a preemptive bid. It will be produced by Wyck Godfrey (The Fault in Our Stars, The Twilight Saga, Paper Towns). The film will tell the story about how one man’s promise to his dying husband took him from Cincinnati to the Supreme Court, where he was named plaintiff (Obergefell v. Hodges) in what is the greatest civil liberties victories of our time. Think Milk meets Still Alice. The sale was widely reported, first by The New York Times, and then in Variety, deadline.com, AP, USA Today, and many other venues.
